Spiced Pot Roast


Spiced Pot Roast… not to panic, you can adjust the spices, but don’t shy away from this dish, because the spices aren’t that overwhelming.  The blend of these spices make it totally different  from the average pot roast and really give it such a wonderful, delicious flavor, it will be difficult to go back to the old fashioned version once you have tried this recipe.


TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. Bake: 3 hours

MAKES: 6-8 servings


  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 boneless beef rump or chuck roast (3 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1-1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup chutney
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
