Caramel Apple Turnovers


These Caramel Apple Turnovers are so much better than any bakery turnovers you’ll ever have.  Just make a batch or two and you’ll see for yourself.  Every Fall my family has an “Apple Bake Off” contest,  a week or so after we all go apple-picking.  We all make an apple recipe, have judges (friends) rate all the entries, and wait in hope that we get to win the trophy, which is made of artificial apples on a board that is now about 2 feet tall.  This contest is very very competitive, and well, I won the trophy last year with this awesome Caramel Apple Turnover recipe.  Enjoy !

Caramel Apple Turnovers
Caramel Apple Turnovers via Sally’s Baking Addiction


  • 2 small peeled & finely diced apples, any variety
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar


  • 1 package (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed1
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce for drizzling
