My Banana Bread
This is my Mom’s banana bread recipe from way way back. Since I make this so often, I remember all the ingredients by heart. Walnuts are optional but I include lots of them.
Prep time: 20 min Cook time: 1 hour Serves: 8 – 10
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 2 eggs
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, into a medium size bowl.
In a separate bowl mix the butter until creamed.
To the creamed mixture, add the sugar, eggs, mashed banana and milk.
Stir (by hand) dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
Pour into a greased bread pan, cook 350° for 1 hour. (walnuts optional)
